Hey! We're the Megatech Photos team. Privacy policies are usually a pain to read, so we wrote you a human version. Here's exactly what happens to your data when you use our service:
Your photos, videos, and all their metadata are encrypted on your device before they leave it. By the time anything reaches our servers, it's already locked. We don't hold the keys, you do. If we were ever hacked, subpoenaed, or just curious, it wouldn't matter. There's nothing readable on our end. It's not a policy choice, it's a technical guarantee.
You can download all your photos and videos at any time, no hoops, no waiting period, no export fee. If you decide to leave, just email us at info@megatechphotos.com and we'll permanently delete your account and everything associated with it from our servers. Because your files are encrypted and we can't read them, deletion is complete and irreversible.
We collect your email address so you can log in. We collect anonymized analytics (pages visited, session duration) so we can improve the service. We collect payment information so you can subscribe to a plan, but your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. That's the full list. No phone number scraped from your photos. No contact list. No location history. No AI scanning your memories to serve you ads.
Our business model is storage plans. You pay us, we store your encrypted files, everyone's happy. We have no advertising business, no data brokerage, no "partners" who receive your information for marketing. We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal data. Not now, not ever.
If we ever receive a legal request, the most we could hand over is your email address, account identifiers, and basic usage logs, because that's all we have. We cannot hand over your photos or metadata because we genuinely cannot decrypt them. This isn't us being clever with wording. It's how the encryption works.
We use AWS to store your encrypted files. Vercel and Vultr to run our servers. Stripe to handle payments. Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. Cloudflare for security and DNS. Botpress for support chat. That's the complete list. We don't add vendors casually, every integration is a deliberate tradeoff, and none of them receive your file contents.
Whether you're in Europe, California, or anywhere else, you have the right to access your data, correct it, export it, or delete it. You don't need a lawyer to exercise these rights. Just email us and a real person will handle your request. We built the service to respect privacy from the start, compliance is a side effect, not an afterthought.
Because your encryption keys are derived from your password, we have no way to recover your files if you lose both your password and your recovery key. This is the honest tradeoff of true end-to-end encryption: the same architecture that keeps us from ever seeing your photos also means we can't bail you out if you lose access. Please store your recovery key somewhere safe.
We built Megatech Photos because we wanted a private place for memories, one that doesn't treat your photos as data to be harvested. Everything in this policy flows from that. We're not a large company with a legal team optimizing for liability. We're a small team that genuinely cares about getting this right.
Questions, concerns, or just want to know more? Email us at info@megatechphotos.com. A real person will reply.
